101 Florals Feature: Tigerlily Pattern

Head on over to 101 Florals by Llew Meija and Lindsay Nohl and check out my pattern of the week. The flower is the Tiger Lily and I wanted the stems to be semi-calligraphic. They turned out well all linked together.

TACK Temporary Tattoo Designs

I haven't updated in a while and have a lot of new work to post but it is all stuck in that production stage. Good things soon to come. In the meantime, here are digital sketches for one of the collections of a super-cute line of temporary tattoos. They are so much more kawaii than I could have even hoped for, my favorite is the ham and eggs.

Card Calico

Just finished these cats, each with their respective card suit and evoking the popular 70s version with a casino twist. I love the interplay between the graphic and the very organic persian cat; the cat with the most fantastic mustaches.

Progress Sept. Project: Card Suit Calico

In addition to CatCat being available as an Iphone/Ipad skin and Archival Print over at Society6, I'm in the process of creating a deck of persian cats outfitted in different suits. Spades is done and Diamonds is on the way, I'm trying to capture all of the strangeness that is characteristic of the breed; I'm already getting a Tim Burton vibe from working with the shapes. I also had the opportunity to collaborate with a local design firm to make a mural that is pending production, I hope to post that some time soon as well.

CatCat Family and Nice Things

Over at Envelop a family of cats; all different sizes, colors, shades, and flavors. Meet CeCe, FrankFrank, JaJa, LuLa, MiMi, and YeYe. This was a fun in-between project that turned in to a variety of goods. They currently inhabit the newest section of pot holders, oven gloves, pillows, and fabric patterns and bring the vibrant CMYK. Check the links.

Nicollet Mall Mural

These panels represent the culmination of a project that I have undertaken to propose a large scale mural in the Nicollet Mall area where Zelo is. I want to beautify the area as well as bring a sense of wonder to the everyday bustle of the Mall.

The theme is a Anglo-Japanese fusion of storytelling involving the search for the legendary and unattainable glory, the white stag. I feel that in our everyday lives we pursue goals that are similar to pursuing the legendary animal. While the stag is represented in the smaller sequence of panels the closer view reveals that the hunter is in fact inside the stag. In this way I like to think of those goals as being unknowingly attained.

Hopefully this will be produced and I am looking at many other commercial signage areas within Nicollet Mall as well.

Mandarin Mallard in a Flowery Spring

I began this project to create this image of a Mandarin Duck, a paragon of ducks in my opinion, in a decorative style. This image is covering a multitude of things and if you feel so inclined can be purchased:

And the Pillow (coming soon)

I am working on a variety of projects right now the consist of covering various things and will be updating regularly. Cheers.
